Our Aim

The ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã Football Academy aims to develop students into the highest quality footballers, both on and off the pitch.

Students enter a high performance program designed to challenge and grow them; providing every opportunity to succeed in Football and achieve their potential.

Years 3 to 7 Skill Acquisition Phase
The foundation of the skill acquisition phase is built upon using a game-related approach for discovery and exploratory learning of the principles of the game and the skill needed to play.

All sessions have a game-based approach focusing on the principles of play from the ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã Football Academy Playing Model.

The focus is on the player’s holistic development using the four-corner approach: Football, Physical, Mind, and Social. Players are guided towards developing their technical proficiency, game awareness, creativity and proactiveness, mind skills, and motor skill coordination.

The aim is to nurture a lifelong passion and love for football, with each player contributing to the football community now and in the future.

Years 8 to 10 Game Training Phase
Students in Years 7 through 10 will concentrate on the Tactical Development phase of their football education. This phase is designed to ready players for senior-level football by instructing them on applying practical game skills within a team context. Our emphasis will be on cultivating tactical awareness, enhancing perception, and refining decision-making skills through an approach centered around the game itself.

Year 12 Performance Phase
In the performance phase, the main focus is to get ready for the intensity of senior football, where performance and results truly count.
Our training zeroes in on the performance process, teaching players that this is the key to success.
Priority is given to physical development, with players receiving personalised programs to ready themselves for the challenges of adult-level play.
Additionally, students gain valuable skills in nutrition, coaching, performance analysis, and strength and conditioning that they can carry into their adult lives.

Entrance to this selective program is based on performance at trails where athletes are assessed on their skills.

The SCBC Football Academy ensures that aspiring footballers are offered an opportunity to train and be coached by professional Football coaches to become professional footballers while achieving their best academically.

Applications are always open for new and current SCBC students

External applicant placements in the Football Academy are awarded based on a successful trial, an Enrolment Interview with the Head of School and placement availability at the College.

Please note that the Football Academy Scholarship has been replaced by the Secondary Sporting Scholarship. If you wish to apply, please submit the additional application.
