College Board

The College is an Incorporated Not-For-Profit Association governed by the College Board, which is responsible to the Minister for Education for the educational achievements of its students.

The Board’s key responsibilities include:

• Strategic Planning
• Finance
• Legal Policy
• Appointing the Principal
• Convening of Sub-Task Teams

Members of the Board are appointed by the Eldership of Rockingham Baptist Church.

Meet the board

Mr Grant Botha
Chairperson

Mr Grant Botha is an experienced and qualified Finance Professional (CPA), Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), Financial Analyst (CFI), MBA, and Forestry Science professional (BSc.) with 20+ years of experience in the resources and other industries, working for industry leaders such as New Forests, BHP Mount Gibson Iron Ore, Mondi Forests and the AFI. His working experience and knowledge come from working in Australia, Malaysia, Laos, and South Africa.

Mr Ashbee Robinson
Deputy Chairperson

Mr Ashbee Robinson B.App Sc. (Physio), Grad Di S. Physio, Grad Cert Pub. Sect. Mgt (Flinders) was the inaugural Maranatha Christian College Board Chairman (1985-1990).  As a long-term RBC Board Member and Chair, Ashbee has had oversight of the change from Maranatha Christian College to ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã and is a keen observer to the development and progress of the College.

Mrs Jeanette Currin
Board Secretary

Mrs Jenny Currin joined the College Board to offer Human Resources expertise. Jenny has over 16 years’ experience working in the independent education sector. In Jenny’s capacity as Human Resources Manager, she led and managed all functions within the Human Resources/Payroll Department. In addition, Jenny was part of the Business Enterprise Team, responsible for driving the College’s Strategic Plan. Jenny and her husband, Neil, are active members of Rockingham Baptist Church.

Mr Stephen Galambosi
Board Member

Pastor Galambosi was Chair of the SCBC Board for over 10 years. Up until 2022, he was also leading Rockingham Baptist Church as their Senior Pastor for 15 years. He has extensive governance and leadership experience within the scope of the church, the Baptist Union WA, Vose Seminary and he was a Board member of Tabor Bible College.

Mrs Christine Velebir
Board Member

Pastor Christine Velebir MA (Pastoral Ministry), Post Grad. Cert. (Business), B.A. Cert IV TAE, is currently the Senior Pastor at Rockingham Baptist Church. She has over 20 years of experience in Management and Leadership roles both within the Church and Vocational Education and Training Environments. As the previous CEO of Mount Pleasant Baptist College, she was successful in gaining RTO status for the College and has experience in the areas of compliance, policy and procedure and OHS.

Mr Francois Du Plessis
Board Member

Mr Francois du Plessis has over 30 years international experience in Business Management, Consulting, Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Project Management. In addition, he has vast experience as a Company Director for Corporate Governance, Finance and Insurance.

Dr Susanna Conradie
Board Member

Dr Susanna Conradie is the dedicated Dean of Education and coordinator of the Master of Education (Coursework) and Graduate Certificate of Education programs at Sheridan Institute of Higher Education. With an unwavering commitment to educational advancement, she is currently spearheading the development of a pioneering Master of Teaching (Secondary) program. Known for her influential role, Dr Conradie frequently engages with esteemed heads of education sectors, deans of education, school leaders, and teachers. She fervently advocates for evidence-based approaches and research-informed strategies that empower students to optimize their learning and unlock their full potential. A registered member of TRBWA, she also brings valuable experience from serving on an Independent School Board.

Dawn Clements
Principal

Mrs Dawn Clements is an accomplished educational leader with an impressive history of success in various leadership roles. She has held the position of Principal at quality institutions such as St Andrew’s Grammar, Lake Joondalup Baptist College. and Presbyterian Ladies’ College Melbourne. With a Masters in Educational Leadership, a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English Literature and History, she has extensive experience in strategic vision, master capital works, financial planning, school improvement, and curriculum and learning. Mrs Clements is a student-focused leader who values quality teaching, professional development, and teamwork. She believes in nurturing the well-being of staff and students to ensure good outcomes and is committed to providing young people with the opportunities to reach their potential and make a positive contribution.
